A Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) is a system designed to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses, as well as property damage and environmental impact. Because organizations differ, a HSEMS developed for one organization cannot necessarily meet the needs of another. At AKN Safety Services we provide Health and Safety Consultants who perform thorough assessments of your company's health and safety needs and work with you to develop a custom HSEMS that will meet legislative requirements and  keep your workers safe.

A Gap Analysis is used to assess documentation to outline areas of improvement. AKN Safety Services can complete an in depth gap analysis of specific areas within your Health, Safety and Environment Management System, or of the complete system. We help to identify areas which do not meet COR or legislative standards and provide a detailed plan that will outline the steps to take to meet your goals and meet or exceed legislative requirements. 

Our health and safety consultants are available for various services, dependent on company needs.  Duties may include, but are not limited to, project safety inspections, incident investigations and WCB claims management, contractor management and pre-qualifications, orientations and training, safety meetings and statistics and trending analysis.

In addition to management system development, AKN Safety Services can also assist your company in the development and implementation of project specific health and safety documentation. Dependant on your industry or whether you are a prime contractor these items may include, but are not limited to, Site-Specific Safety Plans, Site-Specific Emergency Response Plans, Site Orientations and Project Hazard Assessments.
